Trade Associations & Accreditations
ACCREDITATIONS
Bawden Managed Landscapes is committed to delivering service excellence, which is why we have embarked on achieving independent accreditation of its processes across all aspects of the business; namely Quality, Environment, and Health and Safety. Bawden Managed Landscapes is certified by URS, who are accredited by UKAS (The United Kingdom Accreditation Service) to the following standards:
ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management Systems
ASSOCIATIONS
In addition to these quality benchmarks, we maintain membership of several trade associations, SIPP schemes and safety groups. The majority of these require external auditing to ensure that high standards and industry best practice are being delivered across the business. Membership also provides an opportunity to gain industry recognition for outstanding work and safety; something Bawden Managed L;andscapes is proud to have achieved in the past. It gives us access to current thinking and best practice, enabling staff to be kept up-to-date and trained in the latest techniques using the best equipment available.
British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI)
BALI is the leading trade association for the nation's landscape professionals. The group seeks to promote, support and inspire all professional landscapers, garden designers and landscape suppliers to be leaders of an environmentally, ethically and commercially sustainable landscape industry. To become a member of BALI, a rigorous initial vetting process occurred that involved visits to our recent projects and sites, references, scrutiny by the association's officers of our accounts and business practices, and our commitment to abide by the BALI Code of Conduct. Once we were accepted accepted, we submitted to a regular 'Quality Standards Review'. Bawden Managed Landscapes has been a full contracting member of BALI since 1992.
Grounds Management Association (GMA)
The Grounds Management Association is the leading professional organisation for grounds management, recognised by the national governing bodies for sport in the UK for its industry knowledge and technical expertise. Bawden Managed Landscapes has long been providing advice to local authorities, schools and other organisations with sports pitches on turf and pitch care, supported by knowledge acquired through practical experience and membership of the GMA. The Grounds Management Association also provide members with invaluable training opportunities; of particular interest to Bawden Managed Landscapes are the courses which focus on the practical aspects of pitch care and the maintenance of cricket wickets and squares.
The Royal Society for the Presentation of Accidents (RoSPA)
RoSPA campaigns for safety change and provides services and support to help organisations, such as Bawden Managed Landscapes, on their journeys to becoming safer and healthier workplaces. Their occupational safety department produces a wide range of advice and information resources on all aspects of accident prevention in and around the workplace. As corporate members of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, we take occupational health and safety extremely seriously and work to the highest standards where the health and safety of its staff, customers and the general public is concerned.
Safety Management Advisory Services (SMAS)
Safety Management Advisory Services (SMAS) is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement, SSIP. SMAS have developed experience and expertise in new build construction, but also deal with many other construction organisations. SMAS accreditation means that Bawden Managed Landscapes has demonstrated our capability by meeting the SSIP ‘core criteria’.
Constructionline
Constructionline is the UK’s most connected and progressive provider of procurement and supply chain management services. They collect, verify and monitor standard company information through a question set that is aligned to PAS 91:2013, and offer a range of allied services and opportunities. Constructionline provides a rigorous checking process, which ensures that suppliers, such as Bawden Managed Landscapes, are qualified, with standards that are not compromised.
The Contractor's Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS)
Bawden Managed Landscapes is a compliant supplier following assessment by CHAS. The organisation say that assessing suppliers’ health and safety competence is usually a lengthy and time consuming process and that suppliers can sometimes meet one buyer’s Health and Safety standards but not another. Being CHAS approved reduces duplication as our compliance is accepted by all CHAS buyers. CHAS have assessed our health and safety policy statement, organisation for health and safety, and our specific health and safety arrangements to a standard acceptable to customers and others. In addition to this assessment, CHAS gives guidance on any weaknesses in safety management, including how they can be improved.
