Bawden Managed Landscapes has won a major award at the 34th BALI National Landscape Awards 2010, held at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on Friday 3rd December. Run annually by the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI), the awards are the largest in Europe and pay tribute to landscapers who have demonstrated exceptionally high standards of professionalism and skill.
The competition is independently adjudicated by a panel of leading landscaping experts. There are 21 different categories covering domestic, commercial, grounds maintenance and interior projects, and a number of Special Awards. Bawden Managed Landscapes beat four other shortlisted entries to win the Principal Award in the ‘Grounds Maintenance of Business & Private Grounds – limited public access’ category, sponsored by Ransomes Jacobsen. TV celebrity impressionist Jon Culshaw presented the award to Bawden’s managing director Richard Bawden.
Bawden have maintained the grounds and estate of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom at Shrivenham for 23 years and the award is the culmination of years of dedication by Bawden’s Shrivenham-based team. Commenting at the awards ceremony after receiving the accolade, Richard Bawden said:
"This is a fantastic achievement by the whole Bawden team and I am very proud of every one of them. This is absolutely fantastic - for us, for our client SERCO and for everyone working at the Defence Academy, which we take a great deal of pride in looking after."
